Colour Theme

White, black and red
I have chose these three colours because I believe these are the three colours that fit best with my genre and the feel I want to give across to my audience. I believe these three colours will attract my target audience

Front Cover Image Plans

The plan is for my model on my front cover to wear a mans white shirt, I have chose this because I believe this fits my indie genre and also the color white is one of the colours on my colour theyme. I also want a model with black hair, I believe this fits my genre. My model will also be wearing red lipstick.

Questionnaire

In this lesson I created my questionnaire. I chose 12 questions, I chose 12 because I thought 12 was appropriate and the audience would not get bored.
I chose my first question 'what gender are you'. I picked this question so when I got my results I would know what gender to focus my magazine on. And I could also get a feel of how many girls or boys read magazines and what they enjoy.
My second question was 'how old are you'. I did this for a similar reason, so I could find out what age range enjoyed different things and how to target my audience. Therefore I can find out for example, if 16 year olds like the pictures in indie magazines.
When I asked 'what are your two favourite indie magazines?' I asked this question so that when I get the results, I can study and look at these magazines and take little bits out and use it in my magazine. For example, look for inspiration and what artists they use and their style of writing.
I asked the question 'What 3 words would you associate with indie?' because when I got the results, I could then incorporate these words into my magazine. And maybe even use one of these words as the name of my magazine.
I wanted to know what colours the public thought were associated with indie magazines, so then I could take these colours into account so that I could pick my colours theme. And I would have more of a understand of what colours relates to my audience.
I asked 'What is your favourite band' so I could incorporate this band into my magazine. And look at this band and their style and vibe and try and use that as inspiration for my magazine.
I asked questions 7 and 8 obviously so I could know what price they would want the magazine to be and how often they would want it out.
The question 'What do you like about the design of indie magazines' was asked so that I could find out from the public what they likes, and then take that into account when making my magazine. So therefore I could look as indie magazines like Q and NME and pick the bits out that my public likes the most for inspiration.
I asked 'What do you not like about the designs of indie magazines' for the same reason. So I could find out what they public did not want in my magazine. And what they didn't like when reading indie magazines. Therefore I would try not to put this in my magazine so I could relate to my target audience more and give them what they want.
I asked question 11 about the fonts so that my font of my magazine will relate to my magazine. And make sure it relates to the genre and the feel of the magazine.
My last question 'What makes you want to buy a magazine'. Was probably the most important question, because without drawing the reader in and making them want to buy that magazine. Then there is no point planning what is in the magazine.

Audience Research Video

I interviewed a member of my audience.
